You are welcome in the newly built guesthouse, "the Homestay Taras", near the new convent for elderly nuns in Nyerma, not far from the famous monastery in Thiksey.
The place is breathtakingly beautiful, overlooking the snow peaks of the Himalayas. Enjoy the tranquility of this place, where ten centuries ago, the first monastery of Ladakh was built. The ruins of the ancient stupas stand all around the monastery.
It is an ideal guesthouse for people who want to relax, to meditate and occasionally like to experience the life of the nuns.
Accommodation
We have available 6 double rooms with attached bathroom.
In each bathroom there is a toilet, a shower with cold/sometimes warm water and and a sink. Hot water is available.

* 1 Euro = ± 65 Rupees
The intention is that this homestay will provide as an income source for the livelihood of the nuns who live in the nearby nunnery. With your support the nuns in "The Taras' will be able to support themselves. So please come and stay and experience this extraordinary place in Ladakh..
