On this page are the forms of the nuns who still need a sponsor for their study.
There are three groups of nuns who are eligible for a sponsor:
1) The nuns are under the protection of the Ladakh Nuns Association. Of them is currently a group of 21 nuns supported by the Dutch. In addition, a number of nuns sponsored by German people. Sponsoring a nun (by one or more persons) is possible for an amount of 300.00 per year per nun.
2) The group of older nuns Nyerma, the new monastery, built by the nearby DFLN Thiksey. For them, support is needed for the health fund. The nuns are older and get into when facing increasing demand for medicines and means to see and walk.
This is possible for an amount of 150.00 per year. The income from the guest house adds to the cost of their livelihood, but they are still not breaking even.
3) The group of nuns belonging to the monastery in Gephel Shadrubling Sabu. Five nuns who study elsewhere are already supported, but the group is growing rapidly, and most nuns do further training to do so in the future for their own living can provide.
Until now, they get 300.00 per year, but for those in Nepal, and Dharamsala Karnataka study shows that amount is not sufficient to study both, livelihood, health and travel needs.
You can contribute to the maintenance of a nun or you can study a non support.
