Dolma Janskit was the oldest nun in Nyerma. She was about 92 years old.
She lived in the monastery that was built in 2004 in Nyerma, not far from Thiksey. In the recent years she could hardly walk, was very forgetful, and daily life was difficult. Yet she participated in the daily prayers of the nuns. She lived in a room with Chamba, the youngest nun who took good care of her. She had a sponsor thanks to which it was possible for her to spend her last years in this monastery easily.

Myra de Rooy had interviewed her in 2002 for her book "Women in Buddha's mountains. This interview is available as e-book through the website publisher Fosfor.
